Denninger's Foods of the World in Hamilton

They have a nice hot foods section such as sausages, schnitzel burgers,etc. I got a sausage and the lady behind the counter is nice. There's an area where you can sit inside or at the patio. In the back they have various sweets, deli section, cheese,sausages,etc. There is parking available, which is nice since its downtown. I will definitely be going back.

Great croissants, some of the best I've had in Canada! The meat is good quality and fairly priced. I like that they pack ground beef to order (that way I don't have to get more than I need). Most of the staff is amazing! That said, there is one lady at the meat counter who can be quite sour and mars the experience for me some of the time.

Been coming here forever, classic Hamilton staple the quality has been really consistent over their long time in business and I always find they have great deals if you browse around well. Today was just a short stop with some cured meats and donuts to take back to the city and a breakfast schnitzel sandwich with home fries (14 bucks)

A good convenient spot to get European products. Their hot food section has a good variety of foods and their bakery also makes decent products. It can get a bit pricey but I am glad it's around because they might have what you want, but they always have what you need.

Great clean store to shop in.

Wide selection of local and European foods. A restaurant is contained within the store with a patio is opened once the weather is warm. Denningers is a must see for anyone new to the city or enjoys European fare.

Our weekly spot for lunch meat and butcher shop. Butcher meet is sourced locally and humanely at a reasonable price. Also, there are always samples of some kind.

Love the variety. However at 11 am and 4 pm they would make more sales for the lunch and suppertime shoppers. Hate to wait long after day at work.

It's a great store with a huge selection and the staff are fantastic. The only issue is it's so small that it gets a little pushy on busy days. But hey that's what you get with such a good location.

Locally operated chain of grocery stores offering a unique selection. There prices can be higher then your typical grocery store, but it worth the cost due to a lot of items being imported and not found else where.It a great place if you want to try something new!

The dont have a cheese section to get your own amount sliced. The slice their own and prepackaged it. Their ricea are far higher than need be.

Went there for a quick dinner one hour before it closed right after a hockey game, but no more food was avalable so we had a piece of cake and coffee which was close to 20 bucks, and before leaving for a 2 hour drive home we were told we were not allowed to use the bathroom, it was already closed, which was 30 mins before the store clossd. Wasn't at all impressed... Won't ever go back irregardless of how good that super expensive piece of cake was.

I went here while visiting Hamilton. This is a great European style grocery store full of all sorts of delectable treats. They have a great selection of mixes, condiments, soups, etc to help you make a variety of European food you remember from your childhood. The meat, cheese and desert area is also full of high quality and tasty options. My only gripe is that a few of their packaged meals could be a lot better like their cabbage rolls among a couple other things. That’s why I couldn’t give them the full 5 stars they were so close to.

Not the same as it use to be. Very limited German products. Expensive.

My sister picked up an apricot glazed ham for our Christmas dinner and it was amazing. What a nice change from Turkey. I would highly suggest a ham from here.

We bought a Bunche de Noel made by Dufflet Bakery just before Christmas. It was supposed to be hazelnut but there was almost no filling inside and you barely could taste any nuts. Chocolate ganache was gummy and fake to the point that slicing was impossible, the whole Buche was collapsing. Total disappointment for Christmas dessert. The only good point we got the smaller Buche, we are sorry for people who got the big version.

Truly a European-style-sausage emporium in the heart of Hamilton (who knew) with a hot prepared foods counter for convenient gourmet (pre-COVID) eat-in and takeaway service.You will not regret your visit.

Beautiful store and great staff.Slightly overpriced, and they do not carry BREAD FLOUR. However I did leave with some goodies that I am sure I will enjoy.

Great lunch counter, and good food and you can take home some fresh European food.

Nice shop but the lunch counter is middling. They seem to have a very broad definition of schnitzel but the rot kohl is tasty. Bought a frozen vegetable lasagne to take home - it was more like lasagne soup.

Amazing. They have incredible lunch foods, unique groceries and extremely friendly staff. It can be a wee bit pricy for lunch but given how tasty it is I really don't care for an occasional lunch. Actually, I think I'll go there today. I could definitely go for a schnitzel for lunch today, mmmmm.

This place is one of several great European groceries in Hamilton. It has most of my favourite products from Germany, and the prices are really reasonable for the quality you get.
